Samo Tomášik (Hungarian: Tomasik Sámuel; pseudonyms Kozodolský, Tomášek;February 8, 1813 – September 10, 1887) was a Slovak romantic poet and prosaist.
He was best known for writing the 1834 poem, "Hej, Slováci", which was in use since 1944 - under the title of "Hej, Sloveni" (English: "Hey, Slavs") - as the national anthem of Yugoslavia and later Serbia and Montenegro until 2006.
It was also the national anthem of the First Slovak Republic from 1939 to 1945 as "Hej, Slováci" (English: "Hey, Slovaks")
