Sheldon Lewis (April 20, 1868 – May 7, 1958) was an American actor of the silent era best known for his antagonistic roles.He appeared in more than 90 films between 1914 and 1936.
Lewis was married to actress Virginia Pearson, and they were divorced in 1928.An Associated Press news brief about the divorce said that Pearson accused Lewis of "jealousy, ill temper and abuse." However, Pearson's obituary in The New York Times said, "throughout the remaining years of their lives, they remained constant companions." The obituary indicated that the divorce was obtained because in that era marriage diminished a female film star's box-office appeal.
Lewis was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died in San Gabriel, California.His interment was located at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park.
